To provide an evaluation apparatus capable of economically and easily evaluating strength, physical properties, behaviors of deformation and destruction of a brick structure due to a load concerning the brick structure having joints such as a brick structure for a coke furnace, instead of evaluating physical properties using a brick structure as large as an actual carbonization chamber.
The evaluation apparatus for evaluating the brick structure 1 having the joints is characterized in that furnace fastening force (32 and 33) can be added to the brick structure 1 in the two axial directions among three axes each crossing perpendicularly to each other and load 34 can be added to the brick structure 1 in the remaining one direction. The evaluation apparatus has a heating means 10 for heating the brick structure 1, a heat insulator 11 for preventing thermal radiation from the brick structure 1 and a heat absorbing means 12 for absorbing heat radiating from the brick structure 1. The load 34 added to the brick structure 1 is added by means of a hydraulic cylinder 20 and can be non-stepwise adjusted.
