Title:
EVAPORATED FUEL PROCESSING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3849611
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaporated fuel processing device for processing evaporated fuel in a canister by exhaust gas purge without deteriorating the emission characteristic of an internal combustion engine.
SOLUTION: This device has the canister 22 communicating with a fuel tank 10 and a pump 32 for generating a flow of purge gas within the canister 22. A catalyst 46 is arranged in the exhaust passage 44 of the internal combustion engine. This device further has an exhaust gas purge passage 56 for guiding the purge gas carried out from the canister 22 to the exhaust passage. The purge gas is circulated from the canister 22 toward the exhaust passage 44 during fuel cut. When the transfer of the catalyst 46 to a non-activated state is predicted based on the state characteristic value having the correlation with the activated state of the catalyst 46, the inflow of the purge gas to the exhaust passage 44 is prohibited.
