Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and accurately detect an irregularity of a pump forcedly generating air flow in a canister with relating to an evaporating fuel processing device.
SOLUTION: Evaporating fuel generated in a fuel tank 10 is processed without releasing the same to atmosphere. A canister 22 provided with a purge hole 26 communicating to the fuel tank and an air intake passage 38 of an internal combustion engine and an atmosphere hole 24 communicating to atmosphere is provided. The pump 32 capable of generating gas flow toward the purge hole 26 from the atmosphere hole 24 is provided in the canister 22. An oxygen sensor 50 detecting exhaust gas air fuel ratio of the internal combustion engine is provided. It is judged whether the pump 32 is normal or not based on whether a designated change of exhaust gas air fuel ration occurs in accordance with on/off switching of the pump 32.
