To provide technique capable of easily forming an evaporator long in right and left directions, which was difficult to be manufactured, and provide the evaporator permitting easy application of a refrigerating device using a refrigerant used in a supercritical region of carbon dioxide etc. to a large open showcase long in right and left directions and achieving the refrigerating device suitable for an increase in the size of the open showcase for restricting adverse effects on the global environment.
The unit evaporator includes: hairpin-shaped refrigerant pipes each forming a U-shaped bend-part at the midpoint; right and left tube plates; and a plurality of fins arranged between the right and left tube plates in parallel at predetermined intervals. To constitute the unit evaporator, straight line pipes are penetrated through the right and left tube plates and the fins at an approximately right angle, and opening ends of the straight line pipes are positioned on one side face. A set of the unit evaporators are arranged on right and left sides, and by interconnecting the opening ends of the straight line pipes of the right and left unit evaporators, the right and left unit evaporators form a series of the meandering refrigerant pipe.
