Title:
EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012197738
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of striking a balance between CO control and NO2 control in exhaust.

The exhaust emission control device of the internal combustion engine includes: an oxidation catalyst arranged at an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine; a filter for collecting particulate matter in the exhaust arranged at the exhaust passage in the downstream side of the oxidation catalyst and for carrying the catalyst having an oxidizing ability; and a reducing agent supply means for supplying the reducing agent to the exhaust flowing into the oxidation catalyst at the upstream side of the oxidation catalyst. The oxidation catalyst is provided with one or more penetration flow paths, which open in the exhaust passage at the upstream and downstream sides of the oxidation catalyst, respectively, in an outer circumferential neighborhood portion of an oxidation catalyst body, and which extends in an axial direction of the oxidation catalyst. The penetration flow paths are formed such that the inner surface has no oxidation ability and also the reducing agent supplied from the reducing agent supply means can be adsorbed and discharged.
