Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively treat NOx produced in an internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A NOx trapping device 20 uses liquid containing water to trap NOx in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and obtain trapped liquid containing nitric acids. A Nox conversion unit 56 thermally decomposes the trapped liquid obtained into gaseous NOx. The gaseous NOx obtained by a NOx decomposition unit 56a is supplied to the intake side of the engine so as to treat the NOx in exhaust gas from the engine.
