Abstract:
To properly purify exhaust gas during the travel of a vehicle while promoting the purification of the exhaust gas right after starting an engine.SOLUTION: An exhaust emission control device 1 includes first and second catalysts 30, 31 arranged inside an outer shell member 2 for purifying exhaust gas from the engine of a vehicle, a valve 5, and catalyst opening parts 40, 41, the second catalyst 31 being one that can activate the operation of purifying the exhaust gas earlier than the first catalyst 30, and arranged along the cross direction of a flow path for the exhaust gas so as to line up with the first catalyst 30, the valve 5 serving for further enlarging a valve opening 42 arranged on the downstream side of the first catalyst 30 as the flow amount of the exhaust gas is greater, the catalyst opening parts 40, 41 being arranged on the downstream side of the second catalyst 31.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
