Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a deposition amount of particulate matter during the automatic stop of an internal combustion engine with high accuracy.SOLUTION: During the automatic stop of a diesel engine, an oxidization amount (PM oxidization amount dgpmstp) of particulate matters (PM) per unit time is calculated on the basis of an in-DPF lowest temperature Tdpfmin (step 220). On the basis of a deposition amount of PM at the start of automatic stop and the PM oxidization amount dgpmstp, a PM deposition amount gpm is calculated at different times (step 260). Meanwhile, the PM oxidization amount dgpmstp is integrated (step 230), and when a PM oxidization amount integrated value gpmstp thereof exceeds a maximum oxidization amount GPMSTPMAX that can be oxidized by oxygen existing in a DPF at the automatic start of the diesl engine, the PM oxidization amount dgpmstp used for calculation of the PM deposition amount gpm is restricted so that the PM oxidization amount integrated value gpmstp does not exceed the maximum oxidization amount GPMSTPMAX (steps 240, 250).
