To provide an exhaust system capable of enhancing operability of a midship vehicle and of improving exhaust emission control performance and engine performance.
This exhaust system is constituted, such that a catalyzer 21 is connected with a lower part of an exhaust manifold 20 toward the front side of the vehicle. A main muffler 30 which is an exhaust muffler is horizontally placed in the downward direction immediately before an engine 5. An exhaust introduction pipe 33 is projectingly provided on an end plate 32 of the main muffler 30, and a discharge side connection part 21b of the catalyzer 21 is connected with the exhaust introduction pipe 33. On the end plate 32 of the main muffler 30, an exhaust pipe 41 is mounted in the rear of the exhaust introduction pipe 33. The exhaust pipe 44 is rearward bent in the vicinity of the end plate 32 to have an approximately L-shape, then slantly upward stands up from the downward inner side of the exhaust manifold 20 toward a side face of a transmission 6, and is slantly downward bent above an upper arm 11 of a suspension 10.
