Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expansion joint for a pyrolysis reactor, which is excellent in durability, expandable into the axial direction of the pyrolysis reactor and provided with sealing function, by a method wherein the joint is constituted of a first unit casing, a second unit casing and a metallic bellows arranged between both of the casings.
SOLUTION: The expansion joint of a pyrolysis reactor 1 seals in accordance with the thermal expansion of a drum main body while absorbing the change of distance between a heating fluid inlet header 5 and an inlet port channel 9. A first casing 7 is constituted of a first unit casing 17, whose one end is attached to the heating fluid inlet header 5, a second unit casing 18, whose one end is attached to the inlet port channel 9, and a metallic bellows 19, connecting the first unit casing 17 to the second unit casing 18. According to this method, when the heating fluid (a), supplied to the inlet port channel 9, flows to the heating fluid inlet header 5 through an interval (f) between a discharging port 14 and the first casing 7, surrounding the discharging port 14, the outflow of the heating fluid (a) can be sealed while the joint can be expanded into the axial direction thereof.
