Title:
EXTRUDING PRESS FOR SHORT STROKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH105851
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To stably transfer a billet to the billet loading hole of a container by screwing plural projections onto the tip of a fixed dummy block provided at the tip of an extruding stem for pressurizing the billet.

With a slight space provided between the inner circumferential face of the pressurizing stem 28 and the outer circumferential face of the connection rod 104 of an extruding press, the core of the connection rod 104 is held in a flexible state. With a core block 114 pushed to the rear in extrusion, the rear end face of the core block 114 comes into contact with the front end face of a dummy boss 108. An outer ring 120 is expanded and abutted on the inner wall of a billet loading hole, preventing the billet from being flowed to the extruding stem 28 side of a fixed dummy block 100. In addition, threads are threaded on the actuating face 122 of the core block 114, with plural projections 126 screwed in. When the billet is held between a die and the fixed dummy block 100, the presence of the projections 126 facilitates the hold with an adequate force without strongly pressurizing the extruding stem 28 to the advancing side.
