PURPOSE: To obtain an eyepiece having a visual field which is apparently wide, and capable of observing an object image which is excellent over an entire image.

CONSTITUTION: This eyepiece is provided with a positive E1 lens whose strongly positive refracting surface faces to an observing side and whose both surfaces are convex faces, a negative meniscus E2 lens whose strongly negative refracting surface faces on the side of a surface to be observed, a positive meniscus E3 lens whose strongly positive refracting surface faces on the observing side, a positive E4 lens whose both surfaces are convex faces, and a negative E5 lens whose concave surface faces on the side of the surface to be observed in order from the surface side to be observed; and the E4 lens is cemented to the E5 lens.
