PURPOSE: To make it possible to operate continuous work of suction force and intermittent work of suction force with message effect without changing an attachment, by a method wherein a reed valve is provided for checking an air flow from the main body of a facial instrument to its attachment, and air are provided between a valve room and a suction room of the attachment.

CONSTITUTION: When an attachment (20) is turned in one direction to the position where its projections (23) make contact at the end of circular arc-shaped grooves (17), air passages (12) of the main body (1) of a facial instrument are situated at the under surface of a reed valve (14) which is located in the lower room (11) of a double hollow section (21). When a piston (2) is lifted, in such a condition, air passages (32) are closed by the read valve (14) and and the air through the air passages (12) are exhausted from a discharge port (15). Suction force is thus produced continuously in a suction room (25). On the other hand, when the attachment (20) is turned in the opposite direction, the air passages (32) through the main body (21) of the attachment are out of place to the reed valve (14). When the piston (2) is lowered, in such a condition, suction force is produced in the suction room (25), and when the piston (2) is lifted, the air in a pump room (8) is returned into the suction room (25). The suction room (25), thus, is intermittently in suction condition.
