On the other hand, a 4 screen compression printing is specified in the external input device 8, the pixel data are transmitted to a compressing part 10, thinned out by one half vertically and horizontally, and written in a picture memory 9 of the address generated in a write address generating part 11. And in the write address generating part 11, it is automatically judged which area of the picture memory 9 divided into four the pixel data are written in, and the write address is generated. And the 4 screens of pixel data stored in the picture memory 9 are transmitted to the recording part 7 and printed out.
