Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize functions of a recorder connected to a communication network. SOLUTION: At application of power to the facsimile equipment 1, a simple network management protocol SNMP is started. Then recording functions (recording paper size and resolution) of 1st printer 4 to 3rd printer 6 connected to a communication network is reported to the facsimile equipment 1. Then the content of the report result is stored in a RAM. Furthermore, a recording function of the facsimile equipment 1 is stored in the RAM. Thus, the facsimile equipment 1 informs a highest recording function of a recording section of the facsimile equipment 1 to a transmission destination (receiver side) in terms of a digital identification signal(DIS) by having only to reference the RAM at reception. Thus, the recording function of the 1st printer 4 to 3rd printer 6 and the recording section connecting to the communication network are utilized effectively.
