When the facsimile equipment transmits an image of an original in a double side continuous transmission mode where a read circuit 14 reads an image on a front side and a rear side of a double side original, transmits an entire image of the front side of the original to a receiver, and transmits the entire image of the rear side to the receiver, the facsimile equipment transmits an image on an odd number page on the front side of the double side original in the ascending order in a smaller page number and transmits an image of an even number page on the rear side of the double side original in the descending order in a large page number to the receiver. A page number about which the facsimile equipment informs the receiver by a procedure signal is decided on the basis of number of originals counted in the case of transmitting the image on the odd number page on the front side of the double side original by every transmission of the image of each of even pages on the rear side of the double side original. Furthermore, when reading of the image on the rear side is normally finished during the transmission of the image of the odd number page on the front side, the image of the even number page on the rear side of the double side original is transmitted in the ascending order in the smaller page numbers.
