To easily install a fall prevention member 1 when interposing it between a ceiling surface 2 and the upper face 3b of household goods in a fall prevention device capable of supporting the household goods when the household goods is inclined in occurrence of an earthquake.

The fall prevention member 1 is interposed between a ceiling face 2 and the upper face 3a of the household goods 3; and the fall prevention member 1 comprises a plurality of plinths 4 disposed on the upper face 3a of the household goods 3, and erection members 5 erected between the respective plinths 4 in a space between the respective plinths 4 and the ceiling face 2. The respective plinths 4 and the erection members 5, or an interval adjusting member 6 and an intermediate member 7, are formed of resin foam or rubber foam. A clearance G is formed between the interval adjusting member 6 and the ceiling face 2. Release tapes are outward pulled out and peeled off from the lower adhesive faces of adhesive double coated tapes 10 stuck to the lower faces 4a of the respective plinths 4, the lower faces 4a of the respective plinths 4 are stuck to the upper face 3a of the household goods 3 with the adhesive double coated tapes 10. When the household goods 3 is inclined, the household goods 3 is supported to the fall prevention member.
