PURPOSE: To provide a false twisting unit capable of widely securing nip points and performing stable false twisting while suppressing the heat generation of rotary members and to provide a spinning apparatus enabling the realization of decreasing the number of naps of yarn and at the same time high speed spinning by using the false twisting unit.

CONSTITUTION: This false twisting unit is composed of a pair of rotary members 11, 12 whose running directions are crossed against each other, being supported in a contact state, and send out a yarn while they nip the yarn at the contacting part. The pair of rotary members are each made of a flexible elastic material, whose flexibility is different from each other. Further, the flexibility of each member is made different by differentiating the thicknesses of the peripheral walls of the hollow rollers. An air spinning nozzle 4 for generating swirling air flow is placed on the upstream side of a yarn path of the spinning apparatus and the false twisting unit.
