Title:
FAULT SECTION JUDGING METHOD FOR POWER SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3284871
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable speeding up and higher accuracy of the judgment of fault sections by performing a reasoning about a candidate fault section confined to the minimum necessity while utilizing information on changes in condition other than the operation of a protective relay, information from the results of patrolling and the like.
SOLUTION: Candidate fault sections are generated within a power failure block of a system and a fault is assumed in the sections. The resulting assumed operation of a relay is compared with the actual operation of the relay to determine the frequency of malfunctioning. The sections where the frequency exceeds a fixed value are removed to verify the actual operation of the relay while limiting the candidate fault sections thereby judging the fault sections. In this method, the number M of fully operated relays are determined within a power failure block (S2). Assumed candidate fault sections are generated for each power failure block considering a protection range of the operated relays (S3) and the number N of the operated relays protecting the assumed candidate fault sections is determined (S4) to generate the assumed candidate fault sections as true candidate fault sections when a difference between the M and N as mentioned above is below a fixed value for each of the assumed candidate fault sections (S5).
