PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide feed for hog raising having as the raw material sweet potatoes, causing no development stagnancy due to lack of calorie and free from replenishing a lot of animal and plant oil and fat, to provide a method for easily producing the improved feed for hog raising and to provide a raw material of the feed comprising sweet potatoes improved to be used for the feed for hog raising and the method for producing the feed.
SOLUTION: This raw material of the feed for hog raising comprises sweet potatoes having part of starch decomposed through adding water and acid to dry sweet potatoes followed by heating the resultant product. It is preferable to add ≥5 wt.% of the water and the acid so as to adjust pH to ≤5.5 and heat the resultant product at ≥120°C. The feed for hog raising is additionally formulated with 20-50 wt.% of the raw material in the whole raw material. The method for producing the feed for hog raising comprises adding the water and the acid to the feed for hog raising additionally formulated with the dry sweet potatoes and heating the resultant product to decompose part of the starch of the sweet potatoes. It is preferable that the amount of the animal oil and fat and/or the plant oil and fat to be additionally formulated is controlled to ≤1 wt.% and the water content is adjusted to 10-14%.
