Title:
FEED ROLLER OF WOOD WORKING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3399304
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace only a worn tooth by forming plural grooves in the outer peripheral surface of a rotatable roller main body, removably fitting plural teeth in the grooves, and forming the grooves in such a manner as to be extended in the direction parallel to or torsional to the rotating shaft of the roller main body.
SOLUTION: Grooves 4 are formed in the outer peripheral surface of a rotatable roller main body 2, which is formed of carbon steel, and teeth 3 formed of tungsten carbide which is a hard metal with Rockwell hardness of 88.5 are driven in the grooves 4 to be fixed by brazing. The teeth 3 form an angle of torsion with 5-15 degrees to the rotating shaft direction of the roller main body 2, and the torsional direction is determined according to the feed direction in a wood working machine using the feed roller 1 and the position of a ruler. Thus, in the case where there is a worn teeth 3 with lowered force of feeding wood material, only the worn tooth 3 can be replaced.
