Before a base station can perform schedule setting of a radio hand set, this method contains a step for transmitting a primitive channel qualification information signal which corresponds to a set of transmitted blocks. Each of the transmitted blocks contains a set of orthogonal tones. The initial channel qualification information signal can be derived from mean and/or an intermediate value of at least two transmitted blocks. In turn, the base station performs schedule setting of the radio hand set in reply to the initial channel qualification information signal and/or size of downlink transmission. After that, a follow-up channel qualification information signal, corresponding to assigned some blocks, is transmitted. The follow-up channel qualification information signal can be derived from mean and/or an intermediate value, of at least two blocks which are assigned to the radio hand set with the base station.
