Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a feeder so as to be assembled in the inside of a sewing machine head by lessening the number of components, including a feed adjustment mechanism and a differential adjustment mechanism, which constitute a power transmission mechanism which transmits power to a main feed dog and a differential feed dog.
SOLUTION: An eccentric ring 5 installed on a main shaft S of a sewing machine and a main feed shaft 1 are directly connected with a main feed link 11 to make a feeder in such a structure that the main feed shaft 1 may shuttle around its axis according to the rotation of the main shaft S of the sewing machine. The main feed shaft 1 and a differential feed shaft 2 are connected with a differential feed link 23 between a slider which slides along an adjustment arm 12 installed on the main feed shaft 1 and the end of a differential feed arm 22 installed on the differential feed shaft 2 and thereby the shuttling of the main feed shaft 1 is transmitted to the differential feed shaft 2 according to a ratio of the length of the adjustment arm 12 which changes with the sliding of the slider to that of the differential feed arm 22 and thereby the differential feed shaft 2 is caused to shuttle.
