To provide a female terminal can achieve reduction in material cost and process cost.
The female terminal is equipped with a box part 10 having an insertion hole 18 in which a male terminal is inserted from the front end and a spring member 30 which is installed inside the box part and pinches the male terminal inserted from the front end of the box part between the inner wall of the box part by an elastic reaction force. The spring member is manufactured as a single item of metal and assembled in the box part and installed inside the box part. The box part is constructed of a molding of a resin which is insertion molded with a fixing end 31 of the spring member set in a die. A flat plate terminal member 20 of metal which pinches between the spring member the male terminal inserted from the front end of the box part is press fitted in the box part.
