Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enhancing intergranular corrosion resistance of a ferritic stainless steel by suppressing generation of chromium carbide without using titanium (Ti) or niobium (Nb) having stronger carbon affinity than chromium (Cr) used for suppressing intergranular corrosion.SOLUTION: In a composition of a ferritic stainless steel, molybdenum (Mo), silicon (Si) and manganese (Mn) having weaker carbon affinity than that of chromium (Cr) are composite added, a molybdenum (Mo)-silicon (Si)-manganese (Mn)-carbon (C)-based intergranular compound is produced in a grain boundary and the periphery thereof to fix carbon inside of a steel material and condensation of chromium (Cr) generated on the grain boundary and shortage phenomenon thereby are suppressed. There is provided a ferritic stainless steel consisting of, by mass%, 10≤Cr≤14%, C≤0.02%, N≤0.02%, P≤0.04%, S≤0.01%, 0.05≤Mo≤2.0%, 0.2≤Si≤1.5% and 0.1≤Mn≤1.0% and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
