Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a fiber guide increased in wear resistance and endurance without deteriorating thread quality by forming it with a ceramics with a specified amount of Al2O3 as main component, specifying the average crystal grain diameter of the Al2O3, and also forming the Al2O3 crystal on the surfaces so that it has a flat part at the center and a round part around the periphery
CONSTITUTION: A fiber guide 1 is formed with a ceramics with Al2O3 of 90% or more by weight as main component. The average crystal grain diameter of the Al2O3 is specified at 10 to 40μm. Also each crystal 2 on the surface is formed so that it has a flat part 3 at the center and a round part 4 of approx. 3μm or less in radius of curvature R around the periphery, and the crystal grain boundary 5 of each crystal 2 can be identified clearly. To form the fiber guide 1, it is baked at a temperature of 1300 to 1800°C in the atmosphere, and the surfaces of a sintered body thus obtained are mirror-polished. Then it is baked again at a temperature of 1300 to 1800°C in the atmosphere.
