Abstract:

To provide a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber causing neither resin lump around a spinneret nor thread breakage in melt-spinning, excellent in texture and having no smell.

The fiber includes (A) a polyvinyl alcohol resin having 1,2-diol structural units represented by general formula (1), and (B) an alkylene oxide adduct of a polyhydric alcohol.
