Abstract:

To provide a fibrous photocatalyst also having adsorption action and decomposition action of an adsorbed substance, in which the photocatalyst is easily carried and is not easily peeled off from a carrier even under environment of a large amount of moisture content.

The hydrophilic fibrous photocatalyst is characterized in that the hydrophilic fibrous activated charcoal is carried with titanium oxide. The production method for the fibrous photocatalyst is characterized in that the fibrous activated charcoal is immersed in water in which anatase type titanium oxide and amorphous type peroxotitanic acid are mixed, the anatase type titanium oxide and the amorphous type peroxotitanic acid are imparted to the hydrophilic fibrous activated charcoal and dried, thereafter is calcined and the anatase type titanium oxide is converted to the rutile type titanium oxide.
