Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file management method capable of reading out data even from a drive device not corresponding to an AV mode.
SOLUTION: In a file management method including a first processing mode saving data written in a medium in a file form with an alternative processing to another writing in area when a writing in error occurs and a second processing mode saving the data without an alternative processing to another writing in area when a writing in error occurs, and managing files by storing information for identifying the first processing mode and the second processing mode (file type here after) in the medium, a step of reading out a file type corresponding to a file to be processed from the medium, a step of converting the file type from a file type indicating the first processing mode to a file type indicating the second processing mode, and a step of writing the file type after conversion in the medium in a form corresponding to the file to be processed are provided.
