To provide a rational and inexpensive resin composition which enables improvement on the modulus of a member and reduction in the coefficient of thermal expansion while retaining the transparency, and a method for manufacturing the resin composition.
The nanocomposite resin composition can be obtained by drying aqueous type inorganic fine particles of silica or the like to form a powder, dispersing the above powder of the inorganic fine particles in a solution containing a hydrophilic resin monomer having high affinity for the inorganic fine particles, and then adding another resin monomer copolymerizable with the hydrophilic resin monomer to effect the copolymerization of the above hydrophilic resin monomer and the above another resin monomer.
