To provide a film cassette which can be provided with more light transmission parts and shading parts for light discrimination by an engagement part with a simple constitution without causing a deficiency in the strength of the engagement part even if the number of kinds film cassettes increases.
A transmission hole 20 which functions equally to a recessed part 16a as a light transmission part is provided in a projection part 19 provided to an engagement part 17a of a film winding-up part 12 engaging a winding-up engagement claw of a camera to form a passage for light as a slit hole penetrating a couple of mutually opposite projection parts 19 at a stroke. Consequently, film information which can be discriminated by a camera-side optical detector is increased and a film cassette having various film information can be obtained.
