Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film that exhibits superior temperature/moisture resistance, dimensional stability, and mechanical strength and can be suitably used as a protective film for polarizing films.SOLUTION: A film of the present invention is principally made of a polycarbonate resin, has a film thickness of no greater than 50 μm, and exhibits a tear strength of no less than 7.5 kg/cm as measured in compliance with JIS K7128-2. The film is preferably fabricated by coextruding a layer principally made of a polycarbonate resin and a layer principally made of a thermoplastic resin, and then peeling the layer principally made of the thermoplastic resin off. A polarizing plate comprising a polarizing film adhered onto this film is also disclosed.SELECTED DRAWING: None
