Abstract:
To provide a filter element having a structure capable of exerting desired filtering performance even when used over a long time, and a method for manufacturing the same.
A filter element 50 includes: an element body 60 including a filter medium 70 bent in a bellows-like form and formed into a nearly cylindrical shape as a whole, and a nonwoven fabric 80 wound around an inner periphery of the filter medium 70 for reinforcing the filter medium 70; and end plates 90, 95 arranged at respective ends in a cylinder axis direction of the element body 60; wherein the nonwoven fabric 80 is thermally welded to valley-folded parts 72 of the filter medium 70 to keep spaces between the valley-folded parts 72.
