Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter material that does not contain split fiber and that is appropriate for use as an air filter of an internal combustion engine and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: A filter material includes at least two unwoven layers bonded to each other by needling. A needled compound material is subjected to a post treatment by calendar processing, thereby reducing at least 50% of holes present due to the needling.
