Abstract:
To further efficiently perform filter regenerating processing, by restraining an excessive temperature rise in a filter, in an internal combustion engine having the filter in an exhaust passage for collecting PM in exhaust gas.
When performing the filter regenerating processing, when a condition is realized in predicting that the temperature of the filter becomes the first specified temperature T1 or more, the oxygen concentration is reduced in the exhaust gas flowing in the filter, and the oxygen concentration of the exhaust gas is intermittently increased.
