PURPOSE: To obtain a high-strength fishing rod excellent in bending conditions by providing a state in which an inside joining part of a front rod tube has a smaller wall thickness and lower rigidity than those of the body and forming a padding part engaging with the outside joining part of a back rod tube at the back end of the inside joining part.
CONSTITUTION: A front rod tube 11 is inserted from the back end opening of a back rod tube 13 and an inside joining part 15 of the front rod tube is engaged with an outside joining part 17 of the back rod tube. The inside joining part is formed so as to have a smaller wall thickness and lower rigidity than those of the body 19 to afford a thin-wall part 21. Padding parts 23 and 25 engaging with the outside joining part are integrally formed at the front and back ends of the inside joining part.
