PURPOSE: To make construction work easier by forming a protruding belt laterally on the outer surface of a square-pipe-like-body, providing tapped holes through four surfaces of the body and providing a longitudinal groove along a center line between the tapped holes to form a thick-walled part protruding from the outer surface of the body.
CONSTITUTION: A protruding belt 3 is provided laterally over the outer surface of a square-pipe-like body 2 and tapped holes 4 are provided through total of or part of four sides of the body 2. Thick-walled parts 5 are formed on the outer surfaces of the body 2 where the holes 4 are provided. Grooves 5a are formed along the center lines between the thick-walled parts 5. Upper and lower parts of the body 2 of a joining fitting 1 are inserted into a connection part of upper square column 7 and that of lower square column 7 respectively. A beam 6 having an end plate 6a which is welded to the beam 6 is brought close to the side of the fitting 1 to engage a lateral groove 6b with the protruding belt of the fitting 1. Further, bolts 8 are screwed into the holes 4 of the fitting 1 through holes of the plate 6a and columns 7.
