To provide a fixing belt having a nickel electroformed belt base substance the rear face of which is provided with a slide layer containing a polyimide resin, which does not require mechanical roughening and allows a stable surface roughness to be obtained and is capable of maintaining the surface roughness for a relatively long time of period.
The fixing belt 10 for fixing a toner image on a transfer material has a nickel electroformed endless belt-like base substance 11. A slide layer 12 containing a polyimide resin having an imidation rate of ≥70% is formed on the rear face of the belt base substance 11, and the slide layer 12 has a surface roughness Ra of ≥0.1 μm by incorporating a thin film metal oxide.
