Abstract:

To provide a fixing device in which an elastically deformable surface layer is formed around a heating member, the fixing device being configured to prevent a contact member disposed in contact with the surface layer from becoming tightly pressed against the surface layer.

The fixing device in which the elastically deformable surface layer is formed around the heating member is provided with a roughening means for roughening the surface of the elastically deformable surface layer.
