Abstract:
To provide a fixing device that can prevent reverse transfer of a toner removed by a cleaning member to a pressure roller and a fixing roller due to remelting of the toner and can prevent the occurrence of dirt on an image and paper jam.SOLUTION: A fixing device 7 comprises: a fixing member 31 that is rotatably provided; heating means 39 that heats the fixing member; a pressure member 32 that is rotatably provided and forms a nip part N between the fixing member 31 and pressure member; and a cleaning member 33 that performs cleaning of the pressure member 32. The fixing device passes a recording medium P carrying an unfixed toner image through the nip part N to fix the toner image onto the recording medium P, and further includes a heat absorption member 34 that is in contact with the cleaning member 33 to absorb heat for cooling. The cleaning member 33 is a rotatable member arranged to be contactable/separable with respect to the pressure member 32, and the heat absorption member 34 is in contact with the cleaning member 33 when the cleaning member 33 is separated from the pressure member 32.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
