Abstract:

To provide a fixture for facilitating the sandblasting of a cylindrical object.

The fixture for facilitating the sandblasting of a generally cylindrical object includes a frame, a rotary table mounted to the frame, and a movable blast head capable of orienting a flow of grit to a cylindrical object mounted to the rotary table. The blast head is made to move in the vertical direction so as to be capable of extending downward into the cylindrical object. The blast head is also made to rotationally move. Furthermore, the blast head is made to move in the horizontal direction so as to be capable of moving with respect to the cylinder surface extending in the vertical direction of the cylindrical object mounted to the rotary table. The controlled movement of the rotary table and the blast head enables the uniform sandblasting of the cylindrical object.
