To obtain the subject composition having slight metal corrosion, by adding zinc oxide and zinc borate to a flame-retardant polyalkylene terephthalate resin comprising a polyalkylene terephthalate resin and a bromine- based flame-retardant.
A flame retardant polyalkylene terephthalate resin comprising 100 pts.wt. of a polyalkylene terephthalate resin and 1-50 pts.wt. of a bromine- based flame-retardant (e.g. a brominated phenyl ether, a brominated bis phenol A based carbonate oligomer or the like) is compounded with (A) 0.05-1.0 pt.wt. of zinc oxide and zinc borate (e.g. zinc orthoborate, zinc diborate or the like) in the ratio of 40:60-90:10 by weight and preferably 0.05-2.0 pts.wt. of the total of at least one compound selected from (B) a hydrotalcite (e.g. a compound of formula I) and (C) a compound of a zinc-substituted hydrotalcite (e.g. a compound of formula IT) to give the objective composition.
