To provide a flame retardant resin composition which can give a molded body having good flame retardancy and also having well-balanced properties between impact resistance and heat resistance.
The flame retardant resin composition contains (A) a thermoplastic polyester resin, (B) a styrene-based resin, (C) a poly(phenylene ether)-based resin and (D) a flame retardant; this flame retardant (D) consists of (D-1) a melamine polyphosphate and (D-2) a phosphoric ester or its condensation product, with the sum total content of (D-1) component and (D-2) component being 1-70 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the sum total of (A) component and (B) component, and with a ratio (mass ratio)[(D-1)/(D-2)] of (D-1) component to (D-2) component being 0.1-10.
