Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flap gate being constructible at very low cost, while solving technical problems of various gates currently in development and use, from the standpoint of their own advantages and disadvantages.
SOLUTION: The flap gate which is very inexpensive and easy to handle can introduce economical efficiency equivalent to those of rubber dams, by continuously supporting external forces by means of an air bag in the width direction of the gate, while utilizing the advantages of a conventional flap gate constructed of a steel door: that it is resistant to external forces (hydraulic forces and impact forces or the like received from flowing matter); that it has wear resistance; and that it is stable even in an intermediate upstanding attitude.
