PURPOSE: To facilitate handling, prevent an electric short circuit, and improve environment resistance by coating a material with electric insulation property on the whole battery except portions of lug sections of terminal plates.
CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material 4, a separator 5, a negative electrode active material 6 and an electrolyte are arranged between a positive electrode terminal plate 1 and a negative electrode terminal plate 2, and periphery sections of terminal plates 1 and 2 are stuck and sealed with a sealing material 3 made of synthetic resin. The lug 1a of the positive electrode terminal plate 1 and the lug 2a of the negative electrode terminal plate 2 are provided on terminal plates 1 and 2, and the coating of an insulating material is applied on the whole terminal plates 1 and 2 except portions 1b and 2b of lugs 1a and 2a. The whole terminal plates 1 and 2 are insulated except portions 1b and 2b of lugs 1a and 2a of terminal plates 1 and 2, and they can be handled with a metal pincette or the like. Handling is facilitated, an electric short circuit is prevented, and environment resistance is improved.
