Abstract:
PURPOSE:To offer a durable and mass-producible floating magnetic head at low cost used for various kinds of information equipments by forming a desired crown quantity simply and accurately without finish wrapping. CONSTITUTION:A fine rugged section 31 is arranged on the gimbals attaching surface 3 of a floating magnetic head 2. The fine rugged section 31 is prefarably formed by slits of a sectional square, a U shape and a V shape formed orthogonally crossing the direction of air flow on a crown forming surface or by such means as a reverse spattering and an ion milling. An adjustment is easily made to gain a prescribed crown quantity (t) by properly selecting the depth and width of a recessed part, the intervals between each recessed and convexed part, the arraying number and the heat shrinking rate of an adhesive agent for bonding the gimbals and the magnetic head.
