To provide a method and a valve for adjusting a flow rate with high precision for a wide flow rate range.
Two piston guide parts 1 and 2 which are mutually detached and a tube-like control piston 7 which can slide in the piston guide parts 1 and 2 with fluid tight are provided. The tube-like control piston 7 can be moved to the direction of the vertical axis X-of a flow duct 27 against a sealing element 5 arranged on the flow-in side of the flow duct 27 and the fluid flow path of the valve is formed between the sealing element 5 and the tube-like piston 7. A differential pressure sensor 36 is connected to the flow-in side and the flow-out side of the flow duct 27. For deciding the adjusting value Y of an actuator 8, a pressure difference Δp between the flow-in side and the flow-out side of the duct 2 and an instantaneous adjusting value Y with the characteristic curve drawing Q=f(Y, Δp) of the valve and the actuator 8 is correspondingly operated.
