Abstract:
A fluid filter (20) has a filter element (27) for filtering fluid. A nutplate (22) having a threaded mounting portion (37) is adapted to threadedly engage an externally threaded filter head (71). A inner seal retainer (24) is positioned between the nutplate (22) and the filtering element (27) in order to define a hollow interior. The inner seal retainer (24) has at least one stiff hollow web (54) extending in a radial direction adapted to provide a space for transmitting fluid between fluid between the nutplate (22) and the filter element (27). An inner radial seal (26) is attached to the inner seal retainer (24) for sealing the filter element (27) with the filter head (71).
