To provide a fluid pressure cylinder in which a piston rod is made thin and which can be made light in weight as a result, by reducing a load applied to the piston rod.
The fluid pressure cylinder includes: a tubular piston rod 30 connected to a piston 20; a tubular pipe 50 interposed inside the piston rod 30; a rod inner chamber 21 demarcated between the piston rod 30 and the pipe 50; and a pipe inner chamber 11 demarcated inside the pipe 50. The fluid pressure cylinder further includes: an extension side communication path 22 for guiding a working fluid which is supplied from a working fluid pressure source to the rod inner chamber 21, to a bottom side chamber 3 during extending operation; and a contraction side communication path 12 for guiding the working fluid which is supplied from the working fluid pressure source to the pipe inner chamber 11, to a head side chamber 2 during contracting operation.
