Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid type bolt tensioner having a high bolt tension effect by reducing the whole height.
SOLUTION: This device comprises first and second chambers 5, 12; a first holow piston 6 extending partially in the second chamber 12 and capable of moving in the first chamber 5; a second piston 9 having a connection means performing connection with an end of a bolt 17; and a means supplying pressurized fluid to the first chamber 5. When pressurized fluid reaches the first chamber 5 through a passage 15, a piston rod 7 enters the second chamber 12 owing to movement of the first piston 6 so that the second piston 9 is pushed up. The hydraulic pressure supplied with the effective area difference between the first piston 6 and the second chamber 12 is boosted to operate a piston rod 10 of the second piston 9 to thereby pull the end of the bolt 17.
